My bathroom is small, can I still install a wet room?

Yes! Wet rooms are amazing space savers, enabling you to make the best use of either an en-suite or small area.

The tanking process also allows wet rooms to be installed in unusually shaped rooms where it may not be possible to fit a traditional shower tray.

Infinity Wet Rooms will work with you to create a functional design that provides you with the wet room you need.

Do I need Planning Permission for a wet room conversion?

No.

You should not need Planning Permission to have a wet room installed, however Building Regulations may apply.

As part of the design process, Infinity Wet Rooms can advise you on these requirements and manage the process for you.

I have additional mobility needs and require additional grab rails, seating etc. Can you help?

Yes.

None of our specifications are fixed, and we will develop the most appropriate wet room solution to meet your needs. We can undertake additional works within the wet room such as installing grab rails as part of that scheme.

Via our sister company; Infinity Home Services, we can also offer additional services such as widening doorways or installing ramps.

Can I use a wheelchair in my wet room?

Yes.

Whilst we don’t recommend this, the tanking system specified by Infinity Wet Rooms can withstand the pressure associated with a wheelchair. We can provide alternative solutions such as chairs, including bariatric models.

What types of flooring can a wet room be installed on?

Wet rooms can be installed onto any of the main flooring types found in UK homes; wood, concrete or block and beam. The methods used will vary, and as a result, so will the time taken for an installation.

Can a wet room be installed in a first-floor bathroom?

Yes, or the second, or the 22nd! The tanking procedure used by Infinity Wet Rooms, along with associated technology for the waste water means that a wet room can be installed on any storey. Added to that, the floor substrate doesn’t matter either, meaning you can have complete flexibility in designing the wet room of your dreams.

Why do I need to tank my concrete ground floor wet room?

We have to tank all floors in order to ensure that water cannot penetrate the substrate and cause untold, and unseen damage.

Water can penetrate grout within 2 minutes; it takes 5 minutes to get behind a tile, but can then take five weeks to dry out! Concrete is porous and water migrates, damage can occur to plaster work and stud walls as well as the floor.

Do I need underfloor heating?

It is not vital to have underfloor heating, however it will add a luxurious feel to your new wet room.

Underfloor heating also helps to dry out the floor more quickly, although this is not critical if tanking is installed correctly.

How long will it take for my wet room to be installed?

This depends upon the level of specification chosen.

A simply, standard wet room conversion will typically take three to five days to install. We aim to complete all installations within two weeks.

Will I still be able to use my bathroom whilst the installation is being completed?

We will always endeavour to ensure that you have services available, and if our operatives have to leave site we will always ensure that facilities are left available.

There will be times when it is not possible to maintain this (for example whilst we install a new toilet), however we will advise you all the way through the process in order to make it as seamless as possible.

I’m being told I need an extension to my electrical consumer unit?

Within any of our wet room installations where additional/new electrical services are required (for example underfloor heating or LED lighting), we are required to ensure that the system is safe and capable of withstanding the loading. It may therefore be necessary to upgrade the RCD to provide ample fused circuits.

We will review the necessary requirements as part of our design / quotation process.

How do I maintain my new wet room?

Maintaining a wet room is no different to looking after a normal bathroom. The only precaution required is to avoid piercing the membrane beneath either the vinyl or tile flooring (depending upon your chosen specification). Many people find using a window squeegee to be a useful tool.

What guarantees do you offer for my new wet room?

Infinity Wet Rooms offer a full lifetime guarantee  for the quality of workmanship on all wet rooms that we install.

Products and materials all carry their respective manufacturer’s warranties. Infinity Wet Rooms specify only the best products and materials, and work with their manufacturers to ensure those warranties are fully maintained.

An additional insurance-backed guarantee can be provided at an additional cost.

I have been told I need a wet room, but the waiting list from the Council is too long

Typically, we can give you a new wet room installation within two weeks from your initial survey. However by engaging us privately, you will need to pay and may not be able to recoup those costs from your local Council.

If you have an order from an occupational therapist, you may be able have works completed with zero-rate VAT, reducing the cost of works.

In all cases, Infinity Wet Rooms will advise you of the support that can be offered.

Do I have to pay VAT on my wet room installation?

Certain medical diagnoses or disabilities may mean that you may be eligible for VAT relief on elements of your wet room installation. Infinity Wet Rooms can advise you on a case-by-case basis, or you can find further information from the HMRC here.

When do I need to pay?

We require a 25% deposit when you place an order with us. The balance is payable upon completion of the installation.

In some circumstances if an installation is particularly complex or large, we may need to schedule a stage payment, however this will be agreed at time of order.

What is Employee Ownership and why is it so important?

Employee Ownership is at the very centre of our business. It’s critical to ensuring that we consistently deliver the highest quality standards, creating delighted customers every time! It simply means that all of our employees own a part of our business, and are therefore more responsible to our clients, their colleagues and themselves in a traditional business.
